Our Mission
At CALE, we are dedicated to promoting leadership, advocacy, and community engagement within the engineering field. We believe in empowering future engineering leaders by providing them with valuable opportunities, resources, and connections to excel in their academic and professional journeys.
About ESSCO
The Engineering Student Society Council of Ontario (ESSCO) is an umbrella organization that represents engineering societies from 17 universities across Ontario. ESSCO acts as a liaison between professional organizations and the student community, working tirelessly to ensure that the opinions and needs of Ontario's engineering students are heard and accounted for. ESSCO also provides invaluable leadership development opportunities and a platform for growth.
About uOttawa ESS
The University of Ottawa Engineering Student Society (uOttawa ESS) is proud to collaborate with ESSCO in hosting CALE 2024. With a strong history of organizing impactful events, including the Ontario Engineering Competition and previous conferences on advocacy and leadership in engineering, uOttawa ESS is committed to enhancing leadership and advocacy within the engineering community.
CALE Vision
CALE is more than just a conference—it's an arena for change, leadership, and advocacy. Our vision is to unite student leaders across 17 member schools in Ontario, amplifying their voices and propelling progress in engineering. Through a diverse range of events, including workshops, career fairs, general meetings, and speaker series, CALE provides a platform for students to experience firsthand the power of leadership in sparking positive change.
Theme "Make it happen, Make it matter"
Our theme encapsulates the essence of CALE. "Make it happen" represents the influence and leadership that student leaders can exhibit, while "Make it matter" emphasizes the significance of values and the far-reaching impact of our actions within our community. Together, we aim to inspire delegates to take charge of their own universities, advocate for community betterment, and make a meaningful difference.
